I figured it was a "must have" for me when I learned of who the artist was that designed this Incuse relief coin and the history behind it. (we share a name) This is my first purchase from APMEX. Extremely fast shipping compared to others.

These AU coins usually have good luster. Because of the distribution system for US coins during the time these were minted there are many bag marks. The wear is light, limited to the wing tip feathers on the reverse and the cheek and headdress on the front. I've gotten several as lightly worn as the photo and several with a tiny bit more wear. They usually have a little grime on them, a small black something in the incused design. Overall this is a good buy with a small premium over other half eagle coins because of the demand for this half eagle compared to Liberty Head half eagles of similar condition.
