What is The Bullion Club?

The Bullion Club is a membership program that rewards our loyal customers with benefits such as early access to flash sales, exclusive offers, and more.

What is your return policy?

We guarantee your satisfaction at APMEX. We provide all our customers with a refund, return, and/or exchange policy on everything we sell, including all bullion and certified coins. This right is limited to seven (7) days from the date on which the customer receives their item(s). APMEX reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse any return or exchange that does not comply with the requirements below, to find an acceptable replacement in lieu of a refund, and to require payment of any market loss on bullion-related items.

How to Request a Return, Refund, or Exchange – To be eligible, you must notify our Customer Service Department within seven (7) days from the date you receive your item — through your account login on the APMEX website, by live chat, by email at returns@apmex.com, or by telephone at (800) 375-9006 during normal business hours — and keep the item in its original packaging. Once approved, the Customer Service Department will give you instructions on how to return your items and will issue you a Return Authorization Number. APMEX reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any return or exchange that does not comply with these requirements.

Shipping, Packaging, and Risk of Loss – Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. On eligible returns, APMEX will provide a prepaid return shipping label; otherwise, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. On exchanges, you are responsible for the risk of loss during the return shipment. You must carefully package each product in accordance with the instructions provided by Customer Service.

Fees – APMEX charges a restocking fee of $50 or 5% of the price of each product returned, whichever is greater on all refunded orders. A $50 processing fee may apply to all exchanges. Shipping and handling charges remain non-refundable as described above.

How Refunds Are Processed – Refunds for returns are not processed until after the returned item(s) has been received and verified. All Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash refunds are issued through BitPay at the USD rate at the time the refund is processed; APMEX is not responsible for any change in the cryptocurrency exchange rate at the time of refund. At APMEX’s discretion, refunds may be issued as APMEX store credit redeemable for future purchases in lieu of a cash refund. If a refund is requested and an acceptable replacement is available, APMEX reserves the right to provide the replacement in lieu of a refund.

Bullion and Market Loss – On returning bullion-related items, the customer may (at APMEX’s discretion) be required to pay for any market loss on their returns. Any market gain on refunds shall vest in and remain the property of APMEX. Review our Market Loss Policy for details.

Material Defect Exchanges – Where a product has a material defect, APMEX may, but is not obligated to, provide an exchange for an identical product, provided the customer timely notifies Customer Service as described above and receives written confirmation that the exchange request has been approved. If approved, you must follow all instructions provided by Customer Service, including carefully packaging the product.

Pricing or Typographical Errors – We work hard to provide accurate product and pricing information; however, pricing or typographical errors may occur. If an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information, APMEX has the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. If an item is incorrectly priced, we will either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

Additional Terms – Additional terms relating to certain products (such as prices, methods of payment, and our policies with respect to returns, refunds, cancellations, and/or exchanges) may be posted on the site on the pages describing those products.

Can I go in person to pick up my order?

APMEX wants to be your one-stop shop for Precious Metal purchases. That is why we offer our Bullion Club Members scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs. To request a scheduled pick-up or drop-off, call our sales team, who will help you place an order and schedule your pick-up at our location by calling 800-375-9006 option 1.

Due to the ever-changing marketplace, we reserve the right to determine which orders qualify for pick-up or drop-off.

Are there risks?

All investments involve risk – coins and bullion are no exception. The value of a bullion coin (e.g., American Eagles or Canadian Maple Leafs) is affected by many economic factors, including the current market price of bullion, the perceived scarcity of the coins and many other factors. Some of these factors include the quality, current demand and general market sentiment. Therefore, because both bullion and coins can go down as well as up in value, investing in them may not be suitable for everyone. Since all investments, including bullion and coins, can decline in value, you should understand them well, and have adequate cash reserves and disposable income before considering a bullion or coin investment.

Is Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium taxable?

When shopping online with APMEX, you may be required to pay state and local sales tax on your purchase, depending on a few variables. Since the laws and tax rates are not consistent across the county, or in some cases even within the same state, we have created an interactive guide to help you research your state’s sales tax rules and regulations. Remember to check the state where your order will be shipped, not necessarily the state where you live.

When checking out on APMEX.com, all taxable items, and the total associated tax, will be clearly displayed once you have entered your shipping address and shipping method. If applicable, non-taxable items will also be displayed.

Do you require additional information from me?

To help fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires Precious Metals dealers to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open your account, we will ask for your name, address, phone and email address. When your account reaches the pre-determined company thresholds, we may ask for additional information to verify the account holder’s identity. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. APMEX reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to decline any account and order without any obligation to any person, if in the sole opinion of APMEX, insufficient information is provided by any such person in order to properly identify such person. A refund for a declined order due to not providing requested information will be applied back to the original form of payment and may be subject to a hold period of up to 60 days.

Can APMEX store my Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium for me?

Yes. When you buy Precious Metals products from APMEX, you can choose to have them delivered directly to a high-security, private storage facility, managed by one of the world’s largest and most recognized names in secure vaulting solutions, through Citadel Global Depository Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of APMEX. You can also call a Citadel Customer Service Representative at (888) 518-7596 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (ET) Monday – Thursday or 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET) Friday.

Do you report my purchase of Precious Metals to the IRS?

APMEX is not required to report our sales transactions to the IRS or any other federal, state or local agencies unless you fall under the Form 8300 requirement.

Why am I being asked to verify my order?

APMEX understands your privacy is important and we respect your right to privacy. Reviews are a normal process that all our accounts go through once an account reaches a fixed amount or certain criteria. The information from the review is used 100% internally within our Compliance Department only and not provided to outside sources.
