Design is excellent, but execution is average at best - a disappointment considering Perth Mint's normally exceptional production quality. This coin and its predecessor suffer from rampant breaks in what are supposed to be fully frosted surfaces. Numerous shiny speckles ruin the eye appeal of an intended satin finish. NGC grades this piece MS 70, evidently going on (alleged) technical merit and ignoring eye appeal. A more critical reviewer might ask, "how long did graders actually view this specimen before claiming perfection?" The coin may be "as minted," but that minting is not as designed. A letdown, particularly considering the high markup.
