my favorite silver maples

Always liked the silver leafs, and this portrait of the queen is my favorite. Rec'd two, one near-flawless, other also nice had a few small milk spots, no complaints.

Beautiful coin

I purchased this 1989 coin because it depicts Queen Elizabeth II as a 39 year-old which was only done on Maples in '88 and '89. It is a beautiful coin and was shipped in excellent condition, as advertised. As usual, APMEX did a superb job.

In my humble opinion, this coin is a must have for your collection. 1989 represented the decade where President Reagan had just left office and left the relationship with the UK (and the Monarch) in great esteem. The Queen's reputation was at her Zenith. The profile of the queen on the coin is beautiful and representative of the style and impression the world had of the queen at the time.

All came tarnished which is to be expected given the year but a bit suprising when you are expecting a brilliant coin. A quick dip and they looked great, no scratches. I called just to ask if this was common and, upon confirming it was they offered to take them back right away if I wasn't satisified which was reassuring. Nice, simple coin with a great look. You won't make a fortune given the issuance, but good to add to a braod collection.
