This is a very rare Rothschild & Sons 50 gram (1.6075 oz) Gold bar. Rothschild & Sons took over the lease of the Royal Mint Refinery in 1852 and refined Precious Metals there until 1967 when it was sold to Engelhard Industries.

Excellent, simply excellent

I bought this bar about 2 years ago and really didn't know what I had done! These are EXTREMELY RARE now, and I can't even find another one to buy. It is indeed worth more than its weight in gold with not only real gold value but historical importance and value as well.
