Bad*** box! Good detail and full of character. A little pricey but way worth it despite the slightly imperfect closure on mine. BTW It opens wider than you think at first but be gentle the joints are soft.

Chest is a real beauty. A bit larger than I expected too, which is a great thing. I use it to store old, circulated Mexican silver for show and a conversation piece. These are coins I will occasionally gift to someone or a family kid that visits. There’s nothing like being that uncle with the real gold and silver treasure that let’s you pick a real, old coin from a pirate chest, right? This is also a great addition to those who stack circulated pieces for the office too, as it has a quality look and feel. Thin wax layer to protect the wood from the elements can be felt, which is a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Well made and cool looking. Would be great to use as a gift box for coins, silver, etc. Not really an efficient use of space if used for storing in a safe or similar because of the bulging lid.
