Roman Empire AV Aureus Nero (54-68 AD) VG NGC (RIC I 52, 5/3)

Nero ordered this coin issued following the failure of the Pisonian Conspiracy. Members of Nero's inner circle conspired to replace him as emperor with Gaius Calpurnius Piso, and Nero attributed the conspiracy's failure to Jupiter's divine intervention.
